The YES Method is a UK-based nutrition and meal planning service founded by Charlotte Taundry, a registered nutritionist whose mission is to help clients build lifelong independence with food. The program centers on teaching members to create their own meal plans, so healthy eating becomes a habit they own rather than a prescription they follow. Charlotte runs the business solo, handling everything from recipe development to client coaching to social media.

The challenge
For a long time, delivering The YES Method's recipe library meant sending clients a single PDF. Not a short one: a 400-page file that members had to scroll through, page by page, every time they wanted a favorite meal or a weekly plan. The experience put the entire burden of organization on the client.
"My clients would have to look through every page in order to find out their favourite meals," Charlotte recalls, and then write the plan out by hand. For a method built around empowering people to make independent food choices, that friction worked against the program's core promise.
The business model carried its own pressure. Because the PDF was a one-time document, Charlotte generated a single payment per client rather than ongoing income. In an industry she describes as "ever changing," that meant constantly chasing new customers to replace the revenue that walked out the door after each sale. There was no floor under the income, and no month where she could simply trust that the business would sustain itself.
She also knew the PDF had a ceiling. No matter how good the recipes were, the format could not grow with her clients' needs. It could not be searched, could not be updated without resending the whole document, and could not deliver the interactive, personalized experience she wanted The YES Method to stand for.
The solution
Charlotte's answer was to build an app. Building from scratch was out of reach. "I wouldn't be able to do this myself on any other app as I just don't have the skills or know what I'm doing," she says plainly. Member Kitchens gave her a white-label platform she could actually run: she writes, cooks, and inputs recipes each week herself, while the technical infrastructure sits underneath without requiring her to touch it.
The app delivers what the PDF never could. Members can search the recipe library, build their own meal plans, or follow one Charlotte has created for them inside the platform. That single shift -- from passive document to interactive tool -- is The YES Method working the way it was always meant to work: putting the choices in the client's hands.
The onboarding experience quickly became more than a setup process. Charlotte found a direct line to Ken on the Member Kitchens team, who handles development requests as they come in. Her members use an in-app messaging tool to suggest new features, Charlotte forwards those requests to Ken by email, and the changes typically come back within two working days, built the way her clients described. The eight-hour time difference between them has not slowed things down.
"Ken will do it automatically even though there's an eight hour time difference between us and it's always exactly what my clients need and have asked for," Charlotte says. That responsiveness has turned what could have been a static product into one that evolves in step with what her members actually want.
The results
The most fundamental change has been to the business model itself. Where the PDF generated a one-time payment, the app runs on a monthly subscription. The same clients who would previously have paid once now contribute recurring revenue every month, and Charlotte describes having "a lot less worries about generating a steady income day to day." Instead of starting each month from zero, she can trust that the business is, as she puts it, "ticking along nicely, and so does my revenue."
The app has also become a sales asset in its own right. Client feedback about how good the experience is feeds into word of mouth, and the quality of the product makes it easier to convert new members. Charlotte notes that "all the functions on the app make it so easy for me to gain new customers because it looks so good." Happy members talk about the app, that conversation brings in new subscribers, and the subscription income compounds month on month.
Operationally, Charlotte has won back time she previously spent managing the limitations of a static document. With development handled on the back end, she can focus on the work that actually moves the business forward: talking to clients, creating content, and promoting the plan. That recovered time has started to show up in something she values as much as the revenue itself.
"It's also giving me so much time back day-to-day," she says, "so I'm building more of a work-life balance." For a solo founder in a demanding, client-facing field, that is not a small thing.
The bottom line
Charlotte came to Member Kitchens with a 400-page PDF, a one-time revenue model, and a vision for what The YES Method could be if the technology matched the idea. Today she runs a subscription app that her members search, plan with, and actively help shape through their own feedback. The income is steadier, the client experience is stronger, and the business has room to grow in ways the PDF never allowed.
"I'm so excited to see where my app could be in a year's time," Charlotte says, "as the features keep getting better and better." For any nutrition professional still delivering their expertise as a static document, her story is a straightforward case for what becomes possible when the platform is built to grow with you.
"Without Member Kitchens I wouldn't be in the position I am today and be an app owner especially for the price of it compared to actually getting someone to create your app from scratch."
